Jalen Hurts' Off-Season Woes?

Earlier this week, rumors started to float around the City of Brotherly Love claiming that the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts, looks uncomfortable at the position and has been lacking situational awareness during the off-season's Organizational Team Activities (OTA's). Recently, on an episode of the podcast, "Sports Take", NFL reporter Derrick Gunn made claims that Jalen Hurts struggled during a 10-play scenario, in which "he had thrown three interceptions, four incompletions, and was sacked three times". Gunn also states that he believes Hurts "has a ways to go", in reference to his offseason progression. Barrett Brooks, another personality of the podcast "Sports Take", claims he had also heard the same insider information about Jalen Hurts.

Following the release of the podcast episode, one of the Eagles' newest signees, superstar wide receiver, AJ Brown, poked fun at the podcast reports in a tweet that read: "In a 10 play series Jalen threw 3tds to Me. Donovan Mcnabb and T.O. fought the other 4 plays. Vince papale came out of retirement and had the other 3 receptions. #FlyEaglesFly".

Personally, I'm taking this information with a grain of salt. Jalen Hurts has proven his work ethic and seemingly will stop at nothing to better himself at the position. Philadelphia team members have also backed Jalen with words of praise and reassurance. In only his 2nd season (first full season), as a starting NFL quarterback, Jalen proved capable of making high IQ plays in high-pressure situations, was able to take a 2-5 team to the playoffs, and be a relentless leader - on and off the field. I'm sure the off-season has had its ups and downs but I'm willing to bet Jalen Hurts will be ready to prove his doubters wrong come September 11th.

I predict 2022 to be Jalen Hurts' break-out season, only time will tell.
